Office Managers of Arch Family Dentistry Indicted with Health Care Fraud

Hammond – Acting U.S. Attorney Gary T. Bell reported that Justyn Arch, from Valparaiso, Indiana, age 34, and Trystan Arch, from Valparaiso, Indiana, age 31, indicted with healthcare fraud by a single charge Grand Jury Charge which was opened on 22nd Feb 2021.

As per the documents in this matter, Arch Complete Family Dentistry, with offices situated in Chesterton, Crown Point, and temporarily in Knox, Indiana, was an approved Indiana Medicaid giver of dental procedures. Justyn Arch, VP of Arch Complete Family Dentistry, as well managed the Crown Point office in October 2017. Trystan Arch ran the Chesterton office.

The charge purports that Justyn Ark and Trystan Arch committed a conspiracy to swindle the Indiana Medicaid program by causing false and fraudulent entries in patient files.  The fraudulent and false entries revealed that Arch Complete Family Dentistry dentists conducted dental surgery when in reality, no surgery had been conducted.  The claims amounted to over 350,000 U.S. dollars in false and deceitful claims to the Indiana Medicaid program.

The Office of the U.S. Attorney emphasizes that a charge contains just accusations; the accused remains innocent unless proven/found guilty of the accusations against them in a court of law.

This case originated from an investigation by the Indiana Attorney General’s Office – Medicaid Fraud Control Unit, the Federal Bureau of Investigation, Internal Revenue Service – Criminal Investigation Division, and the United States Health and Human Services Department with the support from the Porter County Prosecutor’s Office. Philip C. Benson, United States Assistant Attorney, prosecuted the matter.
